My
sister loaned me some pictures of my grandfather that
she had "acquired." I decided to take a shot
at restoring the original pictures, and also trying to
colorize them. I have completed one, and have a few more
to do.
This is the first picture that I decided to tackle. It
shows my grandfather sitting in a tent (I believe in
Germany) during World War II. On the far left is a
scaled down version of the original pictures as I got
it. If you click on the thumbnail, you will get
what I ended up with after touch up and colorization.
The tagline, "A Tired Old Man" was written on
the back.
I decided to only colorize certain sections of the
photo. Three reasons for this: 1 - I am lazy. 2 - Helps
draw attention to the colorized items. 3 - helps keep a
nice vintage feel to the picture
.
These are 2 other pictures that I
want to try colorizing. . .some time. The
train picture (upper left) is fairly washed out
and will probably be a bit of a challenge. I
will probably take on the above image first.
